Romega – a result of world-class research

The people behind Romega®

Our professional community in Ørsta has been active since 1997, when our production manager Per Christian Sæbø was hired as laboratory manager. During this period, we worked with fatty acids from sources other than herring roe, and had great success in the USA and other markets with the product CLA.

Although over the years we have worked in other companies here in-house than in Arctic Nutrition, the core competence and work with oils and fatty acids have been central to all projects.

A key point in terms of the innovations we have developed over the years is that we have different backgrounds and a breadth of disciplines that we see as particularly valuable. Chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, biology, physics and technology are all important in their own way. In addition, we are good at acquiring new knowledge as new and exciting things emerge.

Romega® is a result of this!

Launch of Romega® in Norway

The finished product Romega® was launched in the spring of 2017, and was initially a pilot project. We had never previously established our own online store, and we were very excited to see how this would go.

At first, things were slow and we felt the fierce competition in the market, even though we had a well-documented product. It wasn't until the fall of 2017 that things took off, when Arctic Nutrition was profiled on TV. Our product sold out within 3 hours! There were so many orders at once that the online store collapsed.

From cautious start to several thousand customers

From a cautious start in 2017, we now have many thousands of customers who use Romega® daily. We are very proud of what we have achieved in Ørsta, with strong will and good professional knowledge. We are very positive about the future, and look forward to what is to come!
